First I want to apologize for being absent for so long. The last weeks were crazy!
I started at a new courthouse, I was with a friend in London, my boyfriend's birthday was last week and someone stole my bike :( But now everything is quiet again and I finally have time to show you my new wallett! Actually it is much more than just a wallet, but more about that later!

I looked for a wallet with enough space for all my cards, money, smartphone + keys. And finally I found the Sew Necessary Clutch! The pattern isn't that cheap but worth it! The instructions are well written and there are lots of pictures too. It even shows you how to insert the twist-lock!

You can't imagine how long it took me to decide on some fabrics *gg* After quite some testing I made a forest-animal-wallet! Especially because I adore the little fox, elk and the bear on the grey fabric...

 photo waldtiere1_zpsjvvzbefj.jpg

Inside there are many slots for cards, a zip pouch and enough space for smartphone and keys.

 photo waldtiere2_zpsl5ybuv72.jpg
Da muss man gaaaanz langsam nähen!

The wallet was generally pretty easy to sew, I interfaced with Vlieseline H630. But the side seams were really hard to do and even my sewing machine did have problems with them. You have to sew them very very slowly!!

die erste SewTogether-Bag

Hallo!

Hi! I want to show you my newest project. I've wanted to sew the Sew Together Bag for a while now because I've seen a lot of beautiful ones on the internet. And last weekend I did it. But the bag is not for me. It is a present for my boss. Who also sews. I gave the bag to her yesterday and she was so happy about it!

I sewed only with fabrics from my stash! YES... it is possible *gg* I really love the fabrics together, the green with grey and turqoise - I almost wanted to keep the bag for myself!

 photo stb1-1_zpsqlnjp9d5.jpg

I really have to sew one for myself too! I especially love the little pin cushion!

 photo stb1-2_zps1jp1ncp8.jpg

The bag wasn't really that hard to sew! Especially the long zipper was quite easy to do!

Cuddle Me!

Now it happened - I catched it too *gg* After I've seen all those amazing cardigans online I had to make a Cuddle Me myself!

So... and that's my cardigan! On the outside there is wonderfully soft, grey jersey and on the inside there is a white and grey striped jersey that is terribly thin and stretchy. I bought it online for a steal. It is wonderful on the skin but way too thin and transparent to use it alone. And I will tell you one thing - the sewing of it was terrible! But I did it and I think the striped lining looks great ;) I added 20cm to the length of the sleeves and didn't use the cuffs - I really don't like those wide cuffs! The collar is made out of red jersey. At first I wanted to use a black one but now I really like the color on it!

 photo cuddleme1-1_zpsb7gvtlz4.jpg

The pattern is from Schaumzucker and really well done! There are different options to sew the cardigan, for every step there is a picture and the sewing is really easy! I sewed mine in 2 hours - including cutting and the fact that I made a lined version!

 photo cuddleme1-2_zpskeo5oqlz.jpg

Even though the photos are awful (the day was sooo dark and rainy and my friend was in a hurry^^) - as you can see, I love the cardigan! :)

Und nun darf der noch zum

Blue Nines Quilt

Yay - the quilt for my mother is finally finished! :) Well okay, I finished it almost 2 weeks ago ;) But I had absolutely no time for blogging in the meantime :(

I named it "Blue Nines Quilt". The pattern is a "disappearing-nine-patch" and the quilt is obviously blue. With some colorful spots. It already found a home in my mother's living room and it fits perfectly with the rest of the furniture and decoration.

 photo bluenine1_zpsiy6xxjyx.jpg

The backing is a really soft blue fleece. Phew, that was not easy to quilt! The fleece stretches and it doesn't go easily through the machine! But with lots of patience and the walking foot it worked. I used varigated blue thready and I quilted diagonally with a space of 2 inches between the lines. At first I wanted to make a grid but then I liked it like that.

 photo bluenine1_zpsiy6xxjyx.jpg

The only thing missing is the label. I will attach that at my next visit with my parent's.

Kaschi-Shirt No.1

The last two weeks were filled with a seminar, learning and the exam, so I didn't really have time to sew anyting. Nor to blog. I actually made the shirt I want to show you today 2 weeks ago. But I didn't have time to blog about it!

Also...

Alright... The pattern that I used is "Kaschi" from Pech&Schwefel and it is for free! And awesome!
I especially like the raglan-sleeves. I had this lilac and grey knit with kind of a leafes-pattern on it and I just had to use it. Unfortunately I only had a really small amount of it so I had to mix it up. But I am glad that I had to because the result is pretty cool! I wanted to combine it with red but didn't have any red jersey on hand. So I used the lilac. I shortened the sleves. And it was good that I did because the sleeves are really tight. So if I sew the shirt another time I will have to make them wider.

 photo kaschi1_zps0e5oitte.jpg

I cut and sewed in size 38 and the shirt fits perfectly. It is a little bit on the short side but this is due to my lack of enough fabric ;) So I am wearing a black top beneath it on the photo...

Nun geht das ganze schnell zu

Hollyburn Skirt

Last weekend I wanted to sew a skirt.
I decided on a fabric pretty fast - a grey woolen fabric that I bought for just a few euros on my last trip to vienna. Initially I wanted to make a pencil skirt but then I found the Hollyburn-pattern. I love that pattern! And I thought that it fits well with the fabric.

The pattern isn't really cheap but worth every penny. The instructions are awesome and the skirt comes together quickly. All in all it took me about half a day (including pattern printing, glueing, cutting, cutting fabric, pressig etc.)
I sewed with my standard sewing machine, but I finished all seams with my serger before I sew the pieces together. I really like it that way - looks great from the inside and is super easy to sew.

 photo hollyburn1_zpsbxxpg1ab.jpg

I really like the skirt. I especially love the pretty buttons and the pockets -YES especially the pockets! :) One always needs pockets *gg* and these look pretty too and are easy to sew! And I had a matching zipper at home. Plus I am really happy how easy it was to sew the zipper :)

 photo hollyburn2_zpsgvxomxyy.jpg

Unfortunately the colors on the detail pictures are not so good. The fabric is a really pale grey, without the yellow tone. And yes well, the fabric... I am not QUITE sure that I love the color. And unfortunately the fabric wrinkles easily as you can see on the back-photo.

But I am going to wear the skirt - in combination with black. The skirt is comfortable, pretty and has those handy pockets. I guess I just have to iron it frequently ;)

Und der Rock darf nun noch zu

Wear Everywhere Dress

Zwei Posts an zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen?? Was ist denn da los?

Two postings in two days? Huh? ;) But I promised to show you my dress from last weekend, so here we go!

I bought the fabric some time last year because it was on sale (I think 4 € per meter). It is a lightweight knit-jersey with a big petrol and grey houndstooth on it. I knew that I wanted to make a dress out of it but for a long time I couldn't decide which pattern to use.

I found a free pattern for the "Wear Everywhere Dress" from SoSewEasy on Craftsy. For free, only 2 pattern pieces (okay, 4 with neck lining) and supposedly pretty easy to sew. So I printed, measured myself, cutted and sewed. And this is the result:

 photo weareverywhere1_zps639bad5d.jpg

I also used my walking foot for this - awesome for sewing the hemlines!

 photo obertransport1_zpsc4aa881b.jpg

You can probably see that the fit is not so good... And it doesn't bother me that much that the sleeves are included. I actually shortened the sleeves quite a bit, as well as the hemline. At my waist and bust the dress was way too big, I took out about 4cm on each side. The neckline is pretty loose too. But the fabric is really nice to wear and combined with a grey jacket noone can see the fitting problems. I will wear it for sure, but I am also sure that I won't sew the pattern again!

MeMadeMittwoch

mitmachen zu können! Und zu

schick ichs auch noch schnell :)
